Today I just beat the game for the second time Ironman Commander and, with what I knew, the second time I charged in with two psi ops, all my guys to one side, took the high ground pillar with a sniper and grenadier and the mission was a cake walk. So without all that initial knowledge of the room layout it was a hell of a fight. I was pushed all the way to the start of the room and all the cover there was shit. I was extremely fucked by the fact that my last grenadier was useless thanks to the towers that wouldn't let me proxy mine the pods that came it. It was my 3rd Commander IronMan run and the first to get to the end. Psi op gave her last inspiration to get him there and If my ranger didn't double crit with rapid fire i would have lost. My psi op found the bastard and my Ranger had to run through an army of Muton and Archon just to get a shot. In the end it took me an hour just on the last room and 30 mins to make the final moves. That left me with 2 of my 6 soldiers to take out the last objective (Sent a brave grenadier with no nades left to scout out first, didn't end well) So it was up to my rapid fire ranger and just out of sustain psi op to clutch the mission. The coward was hiding in the back right corner and would not come out, I split my troops on the right and left side naturally as the aliens came in and the left side was overrun with codex and sectoids on overwatch. I had to send my one PSI op (Huge mistake btw, take 2) with sustain to find the last avatar. I posted this somewhere else but I will say it again in terms of if it was bullshit or not.
